The Ocean Current Oval Hybrid above-ground pool is designed to be structurally self-supporting — you do not need a surrounding deck for the pool walls to be stable.
However, many owners add a deck for:
- easier entry/exit,
- appearance,
- and additional support around stairs or ladders.
Important notes:
- The pool must be installed on properly leveled, compacted ground
- Correct bottom rail and buttress installation is critical
- Oval pools use side supports/buttresses for strength, so leave enough clearance around the sides unless using a recessed/deck-compatible installation design
